Bing Nathan

After studying doublebass with Stuart Sankey at the Aspen Festival and in NYC, Bing attended the Oberlin Conservatory of Music where he played in the Orchestra conducted by Igor Stravensky!

Since moving to the bay area in ‘65, Bing has played Western Swing (Lost Weekend), Rock (Notes from the Underground), Country (Bravo!), Rockabilly (Rockin’ Daddy), Blues (Cool Papa), several symphony orchestras, Afro-Cuban Jazz (Ulysses Crockett), Dawg music ( David Grisman), and swing and early R’n’B (Lavay Smith, Steve Lucky, and his own bands ( Swingin’ Thing and the New Bing Thing).

He stepped into the boots of Johnny Cuviello and Peter Lind as the core of  our rhythm section as drummer...and you know those are big boots to fill and he does it well!
